Businesses in Milngavie have been asked their opinions in a survey about the projects delivered over the last four years for their benefit in Milngavie town centre.

The BID team’s role in the business consultation is to collate all the feedback and from the results, to produce a further five-year business plan to 2029, that details what business owners want delivered.

The BID Team have also produced a detailed 4-Year Progress Report to highlight all achievements made since 1st May 2019 to 30th April 2023.

During the consultation to date, the vast majority (85%+) agreed that much of the existing work is to continue. This includes running the Shop Local Campaigns; issue of Premises Improvement Grants; Ongoing improvements of public space areas; Milngavie.co.uk as a digital resource for the town; Expansion of Milngavie’s social media presence; the Christmas Lights Switch on & Reindeer Parade; Classic Car Show & Healthy Habits events; Floral planters in the town centre, as well as sourcing additional funding to improve Milngavie even more.

77% agreed with the funded of business training courses.

One key objective that the consultation has revealed is the need for much improved CCTV in the town. 93% agreed with this objective.

Graeme Ross, chair of the Milngavie BID said “While we are really pleased with the achievements of the last 4 years, we cannot afford to rest on our laurels. We collectively need to maintain and improve what we have in Milngavie, and it’s my firm belief that a BID is the only way to achieve this.
